V soukrom\u00fdch pal\u00edrn\u00e1ch m\u00e1 prav\u00e1 slivovice zpravidla obsah alkoholu kolem 51 %, v obchodech se prod\u00e1v\u00e1 takzvan\u00e1 \u201e\u0159ezan\u00e1 slivovice\u201c, kter\u00e1 je obvykle 40 procentn\u00ed.\u010cerstv\u00e1 slivovice b\u00fdv\u00e1 ostr\u00e9 chuti, a proto je vhodn\u00e9 nechat ji n\u011bjak\u00fd \u010das \u2013 n\u011bkolik m\u011bs\u00edc\u016f a\u017e let \u2013 ule\u017eet, p\u0159i\u010dem\u017e prvn\u00ed m\u011bs\u00edc se nech\u00e1v\u00e1 odv\u011btr\u00e1vat bez uzav\u0159en\u00ed. T\u00edm se chu\u0165 zjem\u0148uje. Slivovice se pod\u00e1v\u00e1 p\u0159i pokojov\u00e9 teplot\u011b, aby se jej\u00ed chu\u0165 mohla naplno rozvinout. Na Vizovicku se p\u00e1l\u00ed od stolet\u00ed sedmn\u00e1ct\u00e9ho; k v\u00fdznamn\u00fdm v\u00fdrobc\u016fm ko\u0161er slivovice pat\u0159il Rudolf Jel\u00ednek.\u010cesk\u00e9 a moravsk\u00e9 destil\u00e1ty se p\u00e1l\u00ed z jednoho nebo v\u00edce druh\u016f \u0161vestek, n\u011bkdo preferuje pecky, jinde se ovoce odpeckov\u00e1v\u00e1 a kvalitn\u00ed slivovice m\u00e1 podmanivou v\u016fni a \u0159\u00edznou chu\u0165. N\u011bkter\u00e1 slivovice m\u00e1 \u2013 d\u00edky dlouh\u00e9mu zr\u00e1n\u00ed v dubov\u00fdch sudech \u2013 zlatavou barvu.
